If you are contributing a current UG course to the Common Core or adding a new common core area to your current common core course, please submit an Approval of UG Course form for approval by the Committee on Undergraduate Core Education (CUCE). Refer to the guidelines and requirements in the New Course Development section.
Proposals for new common core courses should be submitted using the prescribed form "Approval of Undergraduate Course". The new course proposal is subject to an elaborated process of approval, which applies to all common core course proposals, regardless of what the course offering unit is, or which common core area they are listed under. The course approval process is shown below.
Applications for transferring credits into the Common Core Program are processed through the Academic Registry. The transfer of credits can take the form of course-credit transfer, where a transferred course is equivalent to a specific course in the HKUST course catalog; or credit-only transfer, where only credits are transferred. Transfer credits granted will not be included in the calculation of grade averages.
The 36-credit Program is for students admitted in 2021-22 or before
