If you were admitted in 2022-23 and thereafter, a new 30-credit Common Core Program has been introduced. This program incorporates a competency education framework, focusing on equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for real-life situations.

However, if you were admitted on or before 2021-22, the previous 36-credit Common Core Program requirements still apply. You should continue to complete the requirements of the 36-credit Program. To ensure universal access to competency education, both the 30- and 36-credit Common Core Program encompasses all Common Core courses span the areas of Arts, Humanities, Science, Technology, Social Analysis, and Chinese Communication.

Important notes on the Course Search Engine:

  1. Designated term(s) as common core courses: The Course Search Engine includes courses starting from the 2012-13 academic year, which marks the introduction of the 4-Year Undergraduate Curriculum. Only courses offerings from 2012-13 Fall onwards will appear in the search results.
  2. "CORE" prefix: In 2022-23, all common core courses for the 30-credit Common Core Program had a “CORE” prefix. Starting from 2023-24, this prefix was removed, and common core courses are coded according to the subject area code (e.g., “ACCT” for Accounting). Therefore, it should be noted that courses with the “CORE” prefix listed in the search results were offered exclusively in 2022-23 only.
