New Course Development and Approval
Course Proposal Submission Eligibility
Faculty members, teaching teams, schools, departments, and units are encouraged to submit course proposals for any common core areas of the Common Core Program, excluding English Communication (E-Comm) and Chinese Communication (C-Comm). The Center for Language Education (CLE) is the sole provider of courses in the E-Comm area, while both the CLE and the Division of Humanities (HUMA) can propose courses for the C-Comm area. Faculty or teaching staff interested in joining the HMW teaching team should reach out to their respective school or unit.
All Schools are eligible to offer courses in the Undergraduate Teaching Opportunities Program (UTOP), Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP), and Undergraduate Global Challenges, and Opportunities Program (UCOP). The Research Office (RO) is responsible for courses in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). For proposing UxOP courses, please refer to the guidelines of UxOP and the code assignment for UxOP for more details.
Non-academic units wishing to submit common core course proposals must collaborate with an academic unit for course development and delivery.
