Faculty members and staff, whether working individually or in teams, are welcome to submit new course proposals for the 30-credit Common Core Program. Only proposals for new courses in the 30-credit Program will be considered, as no new common core course proposals will be accepted for the phasing-out 36-credit framework.
The following outlines the guidelines and requirements for developing new common core courses for the 30-credit framework.
The mission defines the institutional role and purpose of the Common Core Program (“the Program”); the goals describe the overarching intentions of what the Program strives to achieve; and the objectives specify clearly defined tasks associated with tangible outcomes to be achieved through specific actions. The Mission, Goals, and Objectives are closely aligned with each other.

The Common Core Teaching Excellence Award (“Teaching Award”) recognizes the dedication and contributions of instructors who play a pivotal role in the success of the Common Core Program. Supported by their Schools and Departments, these teachers create and teach a robust array of common core courses that significantly enrich students’ educational experiences.
