Although common core courses are offered following a rigorous evaluation and review process outlined in Development and Approval of Common Core Courses, changes may be introduced to approved courses as a result of an on-going self-review process for improvement; and some may be removed from the common core course list.

QA Handbook (DEVELOPMENT AND APPROVAL OF COMMON CORE COURSES)

Faculty members and staff, whether working individually or in teams, are welcome to submit new course proposals for the 30-credit Common Core Program. Only proposals for new courses in the 30-credit Program will be considered, as no new common core course proposals will be accepted for the phasing-out 36-credit framework.

The mission defines the institutional role and purpose of the Common Core Program (“the Program”); the goals describe the overarching intentions of what the Program strives to achieve; and the objectives specify clearly defined tasks associated with tangible outcomes to be achieved through specific actions. The Mission, Goals, and Objectives are closely aligned with each other.
